Award-winning songwriter and touring musician Jonathan Foster is set to perform a benefit concert to finish his U.S. Summer Tour on the Umpqua Outback stage behind Old Soul Pizza in downtown Roseburg THIS Saturday from 5 to 8 PM. Old Soul Pizza will join Two Shy Brewing to sponsor the concert benefiting Roseburg’s Community Radio Station, KQUA 99.7 The River.
Foster, born in Cranberry Lake, New York, and living in Redding, California, has released six independent studio albums over the past decade, including his latest album, “Roadside Attraction”. His sound can be described as Folk-Americana, with a strong vocal presence and imaginative lyrics that blend acoustic guitar and harmonica into engaging songs that connect with listeners and draw them into the stories he weaves into his songs.
His music draws inspiration from his travels across the country and is often characterized as authentic roots music for old souls. “A breezy songwriting style, alternating between lyrical introspection and worldly observation, takes listeners on the road with him across America, admiring the beauty of rivers and forests while appreciating individuality along the way,” wrote Ed Balint in The Canton Rep’s Best Music of 2021.
KQUA 99.7 has been broadcasting as a low-power community station since 2017 and was granted a Non-Commercial Education license by the Federal Communications Commission in 2022. Proceeds will go toward supporting our efforts to become a full-power station in 2024.
