Join HIV Alliance for World AIDS Day in Roseburg! World AIDS Day is on Wednesday December 1st and this year’s theme is “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access.” We recognize World AIDS Day as a day to honor our combined work to end HIV, celebrate our collective successes, and remember those that we have lost.

HIV Alliance is committed to ending HIV-related and other serious health disparities experienced by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other communities in Oregon that experience barriers to service. We are working to create an environment where everyone is able to receive the same high quality education and health services to help prevent and treat HIV. This year we will be hosting several ceremonies throughout Oregon in collaboration with our community partners.

In Roseburg, we will be co-hosting a community gathering with PFLAG of Roseburg at First United Methodist Church from 6:00 to 8:00pm to commemorate those we have lost and to gather as a community around ending HIV. The program will include awards for community partners, some speakers, and will feature a segment of the AIDS quilt. We’ll also have some live music from Wayne Ellsworth.

We will also be providing free HIV testing at Umpqua Community College on December 1 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
