Douglas County reports 38th COVID-19 death

Douglas County, Ore. -Douglas County health officials report, as of 12:00 pm Today, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, there are nine people with new positive test results, one new presumptive and one death to report since Monday’s noon case update.
The total number of cases (people with positive test results and presumptive) in Douglas County is now at 1,354. Currently, there are ten Douglas County COVID-19 patients that are being hospitalized, nine locally and one out-of-the-area.
The thirty-eighth death is a 61-year-old man who was diagnosed with COVID on Monday, November 30, 2020 and passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
Currently, DPHN is supporting 104 cases in isolation, as well as another 225 contacts in quarantine in Douglas County. Isolation is recommended for confirmed and presumptive cases, quarantine is recommended for contacts of confirmed or presumptive cases. Currently, staff is supporting an astounding 329 total contacts in isolation or quarantine.
