2022 state and local primary election results

There were a number of primary elections around the country. Oregon was one of the states that held primaries Tuesday. Locally, primary voters voted on a number of office seats and measures.
Tina Kotek won the democratic primary for Governor taking nearly 56% of the vote. Tobias Read, the closest challenger for the democratic ticket took 32% of the vote. For the Republican ticket for Governor, Christine Drazan won the party’s nomination with 23% of the vote. The race was tight with other nominees Bob Tiernan taking nearly 19% of the vote and Stan Pulliam with 10% of the vote.
In the race for U.S. House seat for District Four, the region that covers southwest Oregon, Alek Skarlatos, who ran unopposed won the primary for the Republican party. Val Hoyle won the Democratic ticket with 65% of the votes.
In the U.S. Senate race, Ron Wyden won for the Democrats with 90% of the vote. Joe Rae Perkins won a tight race for the Republican with 33% against challengers Darin Harbick and Sam Palmer. The race was close between Perkins and Harbick as Harbick took 31% of the votes.
In local races, Tom Kress, the incumbent running for Position One for Douglas County commissioner beat out challengers Diana Fletcher and Marcus Trenton Black with 71% of the vote. For Position Two, Tim Freeman had a hard fight with challengers Brandy Stone and Valynn Currie. Freeman only took 55% of that vote. For Position Three, Chris Boice faced an even tougher race against four challengers winning only 50% of the vote.
Measure 10-185, Douglas County expand the Idaho state border to include Douglas County, lost with 57% voting no on the measure.

Measure 10-187, Roseburg School District 4 bonds to increase safety; repair, update schools, improve learning spaces failed with 56% of voters voting against the measure.
