Roseburg, Ore., — Friday evening, Roseburg Police were called to a disturbance on the
1200 block NE Alameda in Roseburg after residents drew guns on a group of teens.
According to reports, three juvenile males allegedly pounded on a residents front door with the intention of “ding dong ditching.” A female resident came to the front door and allegedly stepped out with a firearm in her hand, waving it as she yelled something similar to, “it’s loaded and I’ll shoot.” Another male resident stepped out of the residence with a firearm as well.
The male resident followed the juveniles in the street and caught up to two of them. The male resident allegedly had a firearm in his hand, visible to the juveniles, while he (the male resident) allegedly made statements he’d kill someone for beating on his door like that and to tell the juvenile who knocked on the door to never do that again unless ‘he wanted to get shot in the face.’
One of the juveniles took a video showing the male resident holding the firearm in his hand as he walked with the juveniles. The male resident admitted to officers he followed the juveniles and had the firearm in his hand but denied making any threats.
During the initial conversation with an officer, the male resident admitted to having the firearm on him which was concealed in his pants pocket. He admitted he did not have a concealed handgun license. Officers learned the female resident at one point also walked around the neighborhood looking for the juveniles and had her firearm concealed in her pocket. She also did not have a concealed handgun license.
Both residents were cited with menacing, unlawful possession of a firearm. The juveniles were not cited.
