Man allegedly assaults former sheriff deputy after prayer request

Roseburg, Ore., — Mason Goodknight was conducting a church outreach in the downtown Roseburg area when a man approached him asking for prayer. The male left in the middle of the prayer, only to return a short time later and began arguing with Goodknight. The argument seem heated according to Goodnight, who said the man suddenly hit Goodknight in the face.

The suspect, who was in custody on an unrelated case, was contacted at Corrections. The suspect admitted to hitting Goodknight in an attempt to release the demon, which the suspect believed was possessing Goodknight.
