Roseburg Varsity Volleyball defeats Sheldon at home

Roseburg, Ore., — Thursday, the Roseburg High School varsity girls pulled together to beat Sheldon High. Varsity girls won four of 5 sets; 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 7-25, 15-10. Coach Pinard pointed out that their setter was the glue that kept RHS Varsity girls on track. “We started off strong and focused on our tempo and finding our groove,” Coach Pinard said.

The girls rallied points well and fought for their side out possessions. “We had a big hiccup in the 4th set. Roseburg got quiet and in our heads and let Sheldon get an edge on us,” Coach Pinard stated. Pinard said the team used their break to regain focus and came out ready to recover. “I was very proud of BURG tonight because we have been working on our grit and team first mentality,” Coach Pinard said. The varsity girls blew through the 5th set with unstoppable energy to take home another win.

Hayden had 49 assists, 16 digs, 5 Service aces and 8 kills. (6-0 for full match season double doubles) Grace committed 11 kills and had 6 Blocks. Emma had 13 kills, 2 Blocks and 11 digs (double double). Caroline carried out 6 kills and had 5 Blocks. Kennedy shoveled out 12 digs and came through with 2 service aces. Arlie had 5 digs and pulled off 4 service aces. Kinsey executed 2 service aces and had 27 digs.

The Varsity girls will face South Eugene at home on Tuesday. Game starts at 6:45pm.
